Stairs aren't billed per square foot like flat flooring. Each step is hand-cut and finished on its own, 3 to 4 times the labor of flat flooring. Most LVP steps land around $175 all-in per step. A standard flight is about 12 to 16 steps. The real price depends on how many steps you have, the style you pick, and whether the staircase is open or closed. Why Stairs Aren't Priced Per Square Foot
If you just multiplied stair surface by our $6.50 flat-floor rate, you'd get a number that's way too low. Stairs don't work that way. Each step is its own small install: precise measurement, custom cuts, a separate nosing piece, glue, and finish detail. The labor runs 3 to 4 times higher per square foot than flat flooring. A staircase isn't one floor, it's 12 to 16 small, careful installs stacked vertically. That's why we price it by the step.
Most contractors hide this complexity by either charging way more per sqft on stairs (often $20 to $30/sqft) or surprising you with extra fees after the job starts. Labor alone on LVP stairs runs about $100 per step. Our all-in price is around $175 per step, which folds in the LVP material matched to your floor, the nosing piece, carpet removal, and cleanup. Count your steps and you have a real ballpark before we even show up. Then we confirm the exact number based on what your actual staircase needs.

Box Steps
Fully wrapped step
LVP wraps around the entire step. The tread (top), the riser (front face), and the nosing (rounded front edge) are all covered with seamless plank. Looks custom-built and is our most refined finish.

Treads + Nosing
Flat plank + separate nosing piece
LVP plank cut to fit the top walking surface of each step, with a matching stair-nose piece installed at the front edge. Slightly more visible seam between tread and nosing. Treads usually cost a little more than box steps because of the extra nosing material and the more precise fit required.

The ~$175 per-step price is for standard closed staircases. Curved or spiral stairs, or open-side staircases (where the side of each step shows) run higher per step and get a custom quote.
